The cost for serving documents in the Auckland area is generally $150 + GST, covering Orewa to Papakura. Service of Dissolution of Marriage documents is $190 + GST. Contact us for a quote if service is outside the Auckland area or involves unusual circumstances.

Accepted Answer

We offer a prompt document serving service throughout Auckland. If we receive a Property Law Act (PLA) Notice or Statutory Demand before midday, we can generally serve it at a company’s registered office in Auckland the same day.For other documents, we can usually begin service attempts promptly after receiving your instructions. Urgent and same-day service may also be available depending on the location and circumstances.

Auckland Investigations serves a wide range of legal and court documents, including District Court and High Court proceedings, Disputes Tribunal documents, Family Court documents, dissolution of marriage applications, statutory demands, bankruptcy notices, tenancy-related documents and other legal notices.

What information do you need to serve someone?

Accepted Answer

Ideally, we need the person's full name, a current or last-known address and the documents requiring service. Additional information such as their workplace, phone number, vehicle details, photograph or likely times they will be at an address can assist when a person is difficult to locate.

What happens if you can't find the person I need to serve?

Accepted Answer

If the person is no longer at the address provided, we can discuss undertaking tracing or skip-tracing enquiries to establish their current whereabouts. Auckland Investigations provides both tracing and document-serving services, so is a one stop shop.

What happens if someone is avoiding being served?

Accepted Answer

Avoiding a process server does not necessarily mean the documents cannot be served. Our experienced process servers can make enquiries and undertake service attempts at different locations and appropriate times. Where personal service cannot be achieved, you may need to apply for substituted service - our thorough reports are ideal for assisting with this process.

Yes. Depending on the type of documents and the circumstances, documents can often be personally served at a person's workplace. We aim to carry out service professionally and discreetly.

Do you provide proof that the documents have been served?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Following successful service, we provide a Service Report recording details such as when and where service occurred and who was served. Where required, we can also prepare an Affidavit of Service suitable for filing with the court.

Yes. Although Auckland Investigations is based in Auckland, we have agents throughout the country and internationally and can arrange document service elsewhere in New Zealand and abroad. Contact us with the address and documents to be served and we can advise on the options and cost.

Simply contact us and provide the documents requiring service together with the recipient's name, address and any other information that may assist. We can then confirm the cost and arrange for a process server to undertake service.

Do you swear Affidavits of Service?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you or your lawyer prepares the Affidavit of Service, we will swear the affidavit at no additional charge.If you require Auckland Investigations to prepare the Affidavit of Service for you, there is a $50 + GST preparation fee.
